Mikołaj Ogrodnik, PhD
Principal Investigator
Dr. Mikołaj Ogrodnik is a group leader at the Laboratory for Tissue Damage Responses in Regeneration and Aging (TiDRRA) at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Traumatology (Vienna, Austria). Ogrodnik’s laboratory explores a wide range of subjects including the early-onset responses of skin to injury, molecular basis of cell senescence in skin, the relationship between cellular senescence in situ and the ageing process, and engineering of artificial skin. For that, the laboratory utilizes methods including high-resolution histology, in vitro cell culture, transgenic and wild-type pre-clinical models of wounding and ageing, bioinformatics including spatial and single-cell RNA sequencing and tissue engineering.
He has authored over 30 publications, with 13 as first/senior author, and currently has an h-index of 26 (Scopus) with over 10000 citations (Google Scholar) and has received multiple fellowships and grants including the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) fellowship and the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) Excellence award.
